Main Ingredients

Method

Brewing Process

  1. 1

    Mashing

In a large pot, combine the pale malt, Munich malt, and crystal malt with 5 liters of water. Heat the mixture to 152°F (67°C) and hold it at this temperature for 60 minutes, allowing the enzymes to convert the starches to sugars.

  2. 2

    Sparging

After mashing, sparge the grains with hot water to extract as much sugar as possible. Collect the liquid (wort) into a kettle.

  3. 3

    Boiling

Bring the wort to a boil and add the hops. Boil for 60 minutes, stirring occasionally. This will help extract the flavors from the hops.

  4. 4

    Cooling

After boiling, cool the wort quickly to about 65°F (18°C) using a wort chiller or an ice bath.

  5. 5

    Fermentation

Transfer the cooled wort to a sanitized fermentation vessel and pitch the yeast. Seal the vessel with an airlock and let it ferment at 50-55°F (10-13°C) for about 2 weeks.

  6. 6

    Bottling

Once fermentation is complete, bottle the lager with a priming sugar solution and let it carbonate for another 2 weeks at room temperature.

  7. 7

    Serving

Chill the bottles in the refrigerator, pour into a glass, and enjoy your Zero Gravity Green State Lager!
