Pickling Brine and Vegetables

Method

Pickling Process

  1. 1

    Prepare the Vegetables

Wash the cucumbers thoroughly and slice them into spears or rounds, depending on your preference.

  2. 2

    Make the Brine

In a medium saucepan, combine the water, white vinegar, salt, and sugar. Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring until the salt and sugar are dissolved.

  3. 3

    Add Spices

Remove the saucepan from heat and add the garlic cloves, dill sprigs, mustard seeds, black peppercorns, and red pepper flakes to the brine. Let it cool to room temperature.

  4. 4

    Pack the Jars

In clean glass jars, pack the cucumber pieces tightly. Pour the cooled brine over the cucumbers, ensuring they are completely submerged.

  5. 5

    Seal and Refrigerate

Seal the jars with lids and refrigerate. Allow the pickles to sit for at least 24 hours before consuming for the best flavor.
