Method

Preparing the Shrimp

  1. 1

    Boil the Shrimp

In a large pot, combine 4 cups of water, the juice of 1 lemon, 1 tablespoon of Old Bay seasoning, and 1 teaspoon of salt. Bring the mixture to a boil over medium-high heat.

  2. 2

    Cook the Shrimp

Once the water is boiling, add 1 pound of peeled and deveined shrimp to the pot. Cook the shrimp for 2-3 minutes or until they turn pink and opaque.

  3. 3

    Cool the Shrimp

Remove the pot from heat and drain the shrimp. Transfer them to a bowl of ice water for a few minutes to cool quickly. Drain again and set aside.

Making the Cocktail Sauce

  1. 4

    Mix the Ingredients

In a medium bowl, combine 1 cup of ketchup, 2 tablespoons of prepared horseradish, 1 tablespoon of lemon juice, and 1 teaspoon of Worcestershire sauce. Stir until well mixed.

  2. 5

    Adjust the Flavor

Taste the sauce and add hot sauce to your preference. Mix again to combine.

Plating and Serving

  1. 6

    Serve the Shrimp

Arrange the cooled shrimp on a serving platter. Garnish with lemon wedges and chopped fresh parsley.

  2. 7
