Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Edamame

If using frozen edamame, there is no need to thaw. If using fresh edamame, rinse them under cold water to clean.

Cooking

  1. 2

    Boil Water

In a large pot, bring 4 cups of water to a boil over high heat.

  2. 3

    Add Edamame

Once the water is boiling, add 2 cups of edamame to the pot. Stir gently to ensure all the edamame are submerged.

  3. 4

    Cooking Time

Boil the edamame for 5-7 minutes until they are tender but still have a slight crunch.

  4. 5

    Drain and Season

After boiling, drain the edamame in a colander. Sprinkle with 1 tablespoon of sea salt while they are still hot.

Serving Suggestions

  1. 6

    Optional Seasoning

For added flavor, drizzle with 1 tablespoon of sesame oil and sprinkle with 1 teaspoon of red pepper flakes, or serve with soy sauce on the side for dipping.

  2. 7

    Serve

Serve the edamame warm, either in their pods or shelled, as a healthy snack or appetizer.
