Crab Cake Mixture

Cooking

Method

Preparing the Crab Cake Mixture

  1. 1

    Mix Ingredients

In a large bowl, gently combine the fresh lump crab meat, mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, Old Bay seasoning, egg, chopped green onions, bread crumbs, salt, and black pepper. Be careful not to break up the crab meat too much.

  2. 2

    Chill Mixture

Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate the mixture for at least 30 minutes. This will help the crab cakes hold their shape during cooking.

Cooking the Crab Cakes

  1. 3

    Form Crab Cakes

Once the mixture has chilled, use your hands to form the mixture into patties, about 3 inches in diameter and 1 inch thick.

  2. 4

    Heat Oil

In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Ensure the oil is hot but not smoking.

  3. 5

    Cook Crab Cakes

Carefully place the crab cakes in the skillet. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until they are golden brown and heated through.

  4. 6

    Serve

Remove the crab cakes from the skillet and drain on a paper towel. Serve warm with lemon wedges on the side.
