Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Vegetables

Wash the lettuce, tomato, and onion. Slice the tomato and onion into thin rings. Chop the lettuce into bite-sized pieces.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Avocado (Optional)

If using, slice the avocado in half, remove the pit, and scoop the flesh out. Slice it into thin pieces.

Cooking

  1. 3

    Cook the Beef

In a large skillet over medium heat, add the ground beef. Cook until browned and cooked through, about 8-10 minutes. Drain excess fat.

  2. 4

    Toast the Buns

While the beef is cooking, split the buns in half and toast them on a separate skillet or in a toaster until golden brown.

  3. 5

    Melt the Cheese

Place a slice of cheddar cheese on each burger patty during the last minute of cooking. Cover the skillet to help melt the cheese.

Assembly

  1. 6

    Assemble the Burger

On the bottom half of each toasted bun, layer the cooked beef patty with melted cheese, followed by lettuce, tomato slices, onion rings, and optional avocado and pickles.

  2. 7

    Add Condiments

Spread ketchup, mustard, and mayonnaise on the top half of the bun, then place it on the assembled burger.

  3. 8

    Serve

Serve the burgers immediately while hot, with any extra condiments on the side.
