Method
Boiling the Shrimp
- 1
Prepare the Water
In a large pot, combine 4 cups of water with 2 tablespoons of salt. Add the sliced lemon and 1 tablespoon of Old Bay seasoning. Bring the mixture to a rolling boil over high heat.
- 2
Add the Shrimp
Once the water is boiling, carefully add the 1 pound of peeled and deveined shrimp into the pot. Stir gently to ensure even cooking.

Cook the Shrimp
Allow the shrimp to boil for about 2-3 minutes, or until they turn pink and opaque. Be careful not to overcook them, as they can become tough.

Drain and Cool
Once cooked, remove the pot from heat and drain the shrimp in a colander. Rinse the shrimp under cold water to stop the cooking process. Let them cool for a few minutes.
