Pulled Pork

Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Pork

Rub the pork shoulder with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Let it sit for at least 30 minutes at room temperature.

  2. 2

    Smoke the Pork

Preheat your smoker to 225°F (107°C). Add hickory wood chips to the smoker. Place the pork shoulder in the smoker and smoke for about 8-10 hours, or until the internal temperature reaches 195°F (90°C).

  3. 3

    Shred the Pork

Once the pork is done, remove it from the smoker and let it rest for 30 minutes. Use two forks to shred the meat.

  4. 4

    Add BBQ Sauce

Toss the shredded pork with BBQ sauce until well coated.

  5. 5

    Grill the Buns

While the pork is resting, preheat a grill. Lightly butter the Kaiser rolls and grill them until golden brown.

  6. 6

    Assemble the Sandwich

Place a generous portion of pulled pork on the bottom half of each grilled Kaiser roll. Top with additional BBQ sauce if desired, and close with the top half of the roll.
