Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Marinate the Chicken

In a bowl, combine olive oil, chili powder, cumin, paprika, salt, and black pepper. Add the chicken breasts, ensuring they are well-coated. Cover and let marinate for at least 30 minutes.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Vegetables

Slice the onion and bell peppers into thin strips. Dice the tomatoes and mince the garlic.

Cooking

  1. 3

    Cook the Chicken

Heat a skillet over medium-high heat. Add the marinated chicken breasts and cook for 5-7 minutes per side, or until fully cooked and no longer pink in the center. Remove from the skillet and let rest before slicing.

  2. 4

    Sauté the Vegetables

In the same skillet, add a little more olive oil if needed. Add sliced onions and bell peppers, sautéing until they are softened (about 5 minutes). Add minced garlic and diced tomatoes, and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes. Drizzle with lime juice and mix well.

Assembly

  1. 5

    Assemble the Fajitas

Slice the cooked chicken into strips. On a warm flour tortilla, layer the sautéed vegetables and chicken strips. Top with cilantro, sour cream, guacamole, and salsa as desired.

  2. 6

    Serve

Serve the fajitas hot with additional lime wedges on the side.
