Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Cook the Rice

In a medium pot, bring 4 cups of water to a boil. Add 2 cups of rice, reduce heat, cover, and simmer for 15-20 minutes until rice is tender and water is absorbed.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Protein

Choose your protein. If using chicken, shred the cooked chicken breast. If using ground beef, ensure it is fully cooked and seasoned to taste. For sautéed vegetables, heat a pan over medium heat, add chopped vegetables and sauté until tender, about 5-7 minutes.

Assembling the Burrito

  1. 3

    Assemble the Ingredients

Lay a large flour tortilla flat on a clean surface. In the center, add 1/2 cup of cooked rice, 1/4 cup of black beans, and 1/2 cup of your chosen protein.

  2. 4

    Add Cheese and Toppings

Sprinkle 1/4 cup of shredded cheese on top of the assembled ingredients. Add sour cream, guacamole, salsa, and a sprinkle of chopped cilantro to taste.

  3. 5

    Wrap the Burrito

Fold the sides of the tortilla inward, then roll from the bottom up to create a tight burrito. Ensure all fillings are enclosed.

Cooking

  1. 6

    Toast the Burrito (Optional)

For an extra crispy burrito, heat a skillet over medium heat. Place the rolled burrito seam-side down and cook for 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown.
