Waffle Batter Preparation

Mix Dry Ingredients
In a large mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt. Whisk together until well combined.

Combine Mixtures
Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients. Stir gently until just combined; be careful not to overmix, as this can make the waffles tough.
Cooking Waffles

Preheat Waffle Iron
Preheat your waffle iron according to the manufacturer's instructions.

Cook Waffles
Lightly grease the preheated waffle iron with cooking spray or butter. Pour the appropriate amount of batter into the waffle iron (about 1/2 to 3/4 cup, depending on the size of your waffle iron). Close the lid and cook until the waffles are golden brown and crispy, usually about 5 minutes.

Remove the waffles from the iron and repeat the process with the remaining batter, greasing the iron as needed.

Once all waffles are cooked, stack them on a plate. Top with sliced fresh strawberries, blueberries, a drizzle of maple syrup, and a dusting of powdered sugar, if desired.
