Main Dish
- 1
Prepare the Turkey
Preheat your oven to 325°F (165°C). Remove the turkey giblets and pat the turkey dry with paper towels.
- 2
Season the Turkey
Rub the entire turkey with olive oil, then season generously with salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, thyme, and sage.
- 3
Add Herbs
Place the fresh rosemary inside the turkey cavity for added flavor.
- 4
Roast the Turkey
Place the turkey breast-side up on a roasting rack in a large roasting pan. Pour 2 cups of chicken broth into the bottom of the pan. Roast the turkey for about 13-15 minutes per pound, basting occasionally with the drippings.
- 5
Check for Doneness
Ensure the internal temperature of the turkey reaches 165°F (75°C) in the thickest part of the thigh. Remove from the oven and let it rest for 20-30 minutes before carving.
