Method
Grilled Cheese Sandwich
- 1
Prepare the Bread and Cheese
Take 2 slices of bread and lay them flat on a clean surface. Place a slice of cheddar cheese on top of each slice of bread.
- 2
Assemble the Sandwich
Top the cheese with the remaining 2 slices of bread to create two sandwiches.
- 3
Butter the Bread
Spread 1 tablespoon of butter on the outer side of each sandwich.
- 4
Grill the Sandwich
Heat a skillet or frying pan over medium heat. Place the sandwiches in the pan, buttered side down. Cook for about 3-4 minutes or until golden brown.
- 5
- 6
Remove and Slice
Once cooked, remove the sandwiches from the pan and let them cool for a minute before slicing them in half.
Fries
- 7
Prepare the Potatoes
Wash and peel the potatoes. Cut them into thin strips to resemble fries.
- 8
Heat the Oil
In a large pot, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).
- 9
Fry the Potatoes
Carefully add the potato strips to the hot oil in batches. Fry for about 4-5 minutes or until they are golden brown and crispy. Avoid overcrowding the pot.
- 10
Drain and Season
Using a slotted spoon, remove the fries from the oil and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil. Sprinkle with salt to taste.
