Method

Bread Preparation

  1. 1

    Activate Yeast

In a small bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and active dry yeast. Let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until it becomes frothy.

  2. 2

    Mix Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, combine all-purpose flour and salt. Create a well in the center and add the frothy yeast mixture and olive oil.

  3. 3

    Knead Dough

Stir until the dough begins to come together. Transfer to a floured surface and knead for about 10 minutes until smooth and elastic.

  4. 4

    First Rise

Place the kneaded dough in a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour or until doubled in size.

  5. 5

    Shape Bread

Punch down the risen dough and shape it into a loaf or desired shape. Place it on a greased baking sheet.

  6. 6

    Second Rise

Cover the dough again and let it rise for another 30 minutes.

  7. 7

    Bake Bread

Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Bake the bread for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown and sounds hollow when tapped on the bottom.

Garlic Butter Preparation

  1. 8

    Prepare Garlic Butter

In a mixing bowl, combine softened unsalted butter, minced garlic, chopped parsley, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.

Assembly

  1. 9

    Slice Bread

Once the bread is baked and cooled slightly, slice it into thick pieces.

  2. 10

    Spread Garlic Butter

Generously spread the garlic butter mixture on each slice of bread.

  3. 11

    Final Bake

Place the garlic buttered slices back on a baking sheet and bake at 375°F (190°C) for an additional 10-15 minutes, or until the edges are crispy.

  4. 12

    Serve

Remove from the oven, let cool slightly, and serve warm.
