Directions
Prepare the Rice
Rinse the glutinous rice under cold water until the water runs clear. Soak the rice in water for at least 4 hours or overnight.
Cook the Rice
Drain the soaked rice and place it in a steamer lined with cheesecloth. Steam for about 30-40 minutes, or until the rice is tender and sticky.
Make Coconut Sauce
In a saucepan, combine the coconut milk, sugar, and salt. Heat over medium heat, stirring until the sugar dissolves. Do not bring to a boil.
Combine Rice and Coconut Sauce
Once the rice is cooked, transfer it to a large bowl and pour about 3/4 of the coconut sauce over the rice. Mix well and let it sit for about 15 minutes to absorb the flavors.
Prepare the Mango
While the rice is resting, peel and slice the ripe mangoes.
Serve
To serve, place a portion of the sticky rice on a plate, top with sliced mango, and drizzle with the remaining coconut sauce. Garnish with sesame seeds or mung beans if desired.
