Gulab Jamun Ingredients

Method

Cooking Directions

1

Prepare the Sugar Syrup

In a saucepan, combine sugar, water, and cardamom pods. Bring to a boil and let it simmer for about 10 minutes until slightly thickened. Add rose water and set aside to cool.

2

Make the Dough

In a mixing bowl, combine milk powder, all-purpose flour, and baking soda. Add ghee and mix well. Gradually add milk to form a soft dough. Let it rest for 15 minutes.

3

Shape the Gulab Jamun

Divide the dough into small, equal portions and roll them into smooth balls, ensuring there are no cracks.

4

Fry the Balls

Heat oil in a deep frying pan over medium heat. Fry the dough balls in batches, cooking until they are golden brown all over. Remove and drain on paper towels.

5

Soak in Syrup

While the gulab jamuns are still warm, immerse them in the sugar syrup. Allow them to soak for at least 1 hour before serving.
