Method

Preparing the Fries

  1. 1

    Cut the Potatoes

Peel the russet potatoes and cut them into thin strips, about 1/4 inch thick.

  2. 2

    Soak the Potatoes

Place the cut potatoes in a bowl of cold water for at least 30 minutes to remove excess starch.

  3. 3

    Heat the Oil

In a large pot, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).

  4. 4

    Fry the Potatoes

Drain the soaked potatoes and pat them dry with a kitchen towel. Fry them in batches for about 5-7 minutes until golden brown and crispy. Remove and drain on paper towels, and season with salt.

Cooking the Steak

  1. 5

    Season the Steak

Pat the ribeye steaks dry with paper towels. Season both sides generously with salt and black pepper.

  2. 6

    Sear the Steak

In a large skillet, heat olive oil over high heat. Once hot, add the steaks and sear for 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or until desired doneness.

  3. 7

    Rest the Steak

Remove the steaks from the skillet and let them rest for at least 5 minutes before slicing.

Making the Garlic Butter

  1. 8

    Prepare the Garlic

Mince the garlic cloves and chop the fresh parsley.

  2. 9

    Make the Butter

In a small bowl, mix the softened butter with the minced garlic, chopped parsley, and lemon juice until well combined.

  3. 10

    Serve the Butter

Spoon the garlic butter over the sliced steak just before serving.

Serving

  1. 11

    Plate the Dish

On a large plate, slice the steak against the grain and serve alongside a generous portion of fries. Top with the garlic butter.
