Method

Hummus Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare Chickpeas

Drain and rinse the canned chickpeas under cold water. Set aside.

  2. 2

    Blend Hummus Ingredients

In a food processor, combine the chickpeas, tahini, garlic, lemon juice, olive oil, salt, ground cumin, and water. Blend until smooth, scraping down the sides as necessary.

  3. 3

    Adjust Consistency

If the hummus is too thick, add more water, one tablespoon at a time, until you reach the desired consistency. Taste and adjust seasoning if needed.

Tzatziki Preparation

  1. 4

    Prepare Cucumber

Grate the cucumber and squeeze out excess moisture using a clean cloth or paper towel.

  2. 5

    Combine Ingredients

In a bowl, mix the Greek yogurt, grated cucumber, minced garlic, dill, lemon juice, and salt until well combined.

  3. 6

    Chill

Cover the tzatziki and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.

Assembly

  1. 7

    Serve

In a serving dish, spread the hummus as a base and top with the tzatziki. Sprinkle with chopped black olives and serve with crispy pita chips on the side.
