Method

Tofu Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Tofu

Drain the tofu and press it between paper towels to remove excess moisture. Cut into 1-inch cubes.

  2. 2

    Marinate the Tofu

In a bowl, mix Korean chili powder, soy sauce, and cubed tofu. Let it marinate for at least 30 minutes.

  3. 3

    Coat the Tofu

After marinating, sprinkle cornstarch over the tofu cubes, ensuring they are evenly coated.

  4. 4

    Fry the Tofu

Heat vegetable oil in a pan over medium-high heat. Fry the tofu until golden and crispy, about 3-4 minutes on each side. Remove and drain on paper towels.

Wontons Preparation

  1. 5

    Fry the Wontons

In a separate pan, heat vegetable oil for frying. Once hot, carefully add wonton wrappers and fry until golden and crispy. Remove and drain on paper towels.

Green Papaya Slaw Preparation

  1. 6

    Mix the Slaw

In a bowl, combine shredded green papaya, shredded carrot, chopped cilantro, lime juice, and salt. Toss well and set aside.

Chili Crisp Preparation

  1. 7

    Prepare the Chili Crisp

Simply measure out the chili crisp and set it aside for serving.

Carrot Miso Dressing Preparation

  1. 8

    Make the Dressing

In a blender, add diced carrot, miso paste, rice vinegar, honey (or maple syrup), and water. Blend until smooth and creamy.

Coconut Jasmine Rice Preparation

  1. 9

    Cook the Rice

In a saucepan, combine jasmine rice, coconut milk, water, and salt. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for about 15 minutes or until rice is cooked and fluffy.

Assembly

  1. 10

    Assemble the Bowl

In a bowl, layer coconut jasmine rice, top with crispy tofu, green papaya slaw, wontons, and drizzle with carrot miso dressing and chili crisp. Serve immediately.
