Tuna Tartare

Wonton Chips

Method

Tuna Tartare Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Ahi Tuna

Finely dice the Ahi tuna into small pieces and place in a mixing bowl.

  2. 2

    Mix Ingredients

Add the diced avocado, soy sauce, sesame oil, finely chopped green onions, sesame seeds, lime juice, salt, and black pepper to the bowl with the tuna. Gently mix until all ingredients are combined. Cover and refrigerate for at least 15 minutes.

Wonton Chips Preparation

  1. 3

    Heat the Oil

In a deep frying pan or pot, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).

  2. 4

    Fry the Wonton Wrappers

Carefully add wonton wrappers to the hot oil, frying in batches until they are golden brown and crispy, about 1-2 minutes per side. Remove with a slotted spoon and place on paper towels to drain excess oil.

Wasabi Aioli Preparation

  1. 5

    Mix the Ingredients

In a small bowl, combine mayonnaise, wasabi paste, lime juice, and minced garlic clove. Mix well until smooth.

  2. 6

    Adjust Seasoning

Taste the aioli and add salt to taste. Mix again until well combined.

Assembly

  1. 7

    Assemble the Dish

On each crispy wonton chip, place a spoonful of the tuna tartare mixture. Drizzle with wasabi aioli on top. Optionally, garnish with additional sesame seeds or green onions.

  2. 8

    Serve

Arrange the assembled Ahi Tuna Crisps on a serving platter and serve immediately for the best texture.
