Directions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Marinade

In a bowl, combine five spice powder, soy sauce, honey, minced garlic, grated ginger, rice vinegar, sesame oil, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are fully combined.

  2. 2

    Marinate the Ribs

Place the pork ribs in a large resealable plastic bag or a shallow dish. Pour the marinade over the ribs, ensuring they are well coated. Seal the bag or cover the dish and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight for maximum flavor.

  3. 3

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 150°C (300°F). This low temperature will help cook the ribs slowly and make them tender.

  4. 4

    Prepare the Baking Tray

Line a baking tray with aluminum foil for easy cleanup. Place a wire rack on top of the baking tray.

  5. 5

    Bake the Ribs

Remove the ribs from the marinade and place them on the wire rack. Reserve the marinade for basting. Bake the ribs in the preheated oven for about 2.5 to 3 hours, basting with the reserved marinade every 30 minutes.

  6. 6

    Finish on High Heat

After the ribs are tender, increase the oven temperature to 220°C (425°F) and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes to caramelize the outside.

  7. 7

    Rest and Serve

Once done, remove the ribs from the oven and let them rest for 10 minutes. Cut between the bones and serve warm with your favorite sides.
