Method

Steak Preparation

  1. 1

    Season the Steak

Generously season the tomahawk ribeye steak with salt and black pepper on both sides. Let it rest at room temperature for about 1 hour before cooking.

  2. 2

    Sear the Steak

Heat olive oil in a large cast-iron skillet over high heat. Once hot, add the steak and sear for about 4-5 minutes on each side until a crust forms.

  3. 3

    Add Aromatics

In the last few minutes of cooking, add garlic cloves and rosemary to the skillet to infuse flavor. Baste the steak with the oil and juices from the pan.

  4. 4

    Rest the Steak

Remove the steak from the skillet and let it rest for 10-15 minutes before slicing.

Crispy Mashed Potatoes

  1. 5

    Boil the Potatoes

Peel and cut the russet potatoes into quarters. Place them in a large pot, cover with cold water, and add salt. Bring to a boil and cook until tender, about 15-20 minutes.

  2. 6

    Mash the Potatoes

Drain the potatoes and return them to the pot. Add butter, heavy cream, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Mash until smooth and creamy.

  3. 7

    Crisp the Potatoes

Spread the mashed potatoes onto a baking sheet and use a fork to create a textured surface. Bake at 425°F (220°C) for about 20-25 minutes until golden and crispy.

  4. 8

    Garnish

Sprinkle chopped chives over the crispy mashed potatoes before serving.

Seasonal Vegetables

  1. 9

    Prepare the Vegetables

Trim the asparagus and peel the carrots. Cut the carrots into thin strips.

  2. 10

    Cook the Vegetables

In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the asparagus and carrots, season with salt and pepper, and sauté for about 5-7 minutes until tender.

  3. 11

    Serve

Arrange the sautéed vegetables on the plate alongside the steak and crispy mashed potatoes.
