Crispy Mashed Potatoes

Method

Steak

  1. 1

    Prepare the sirloin steak

Take the 6 oz sirloin steak out of the refrigerator and let it sit at room temperature for about 30 minutes. This helps in even cooking.

  2. 2

    Season the steak

Rub the steak with olive oil, then season generously with salt, black pepper, and garlic powder on both sides.

  3. 3

    Cook the steak

Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the steak for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare. Adjust cooking time for desired doneness.

  4. 4

    Rest the steak

Once cooked, remove the steak from the heat and let it rest for 5 minutes before slicing.

Crispy Mashed Potatoes

  1. 5

    Boil the potatoes

Peel and chop the potatoes into quarters. Place them in a pot of salted water and bring to a boil. Cook for about 15-20 minutes until fork-tender.

  2. 6

    Mash the potatoes

Drain the potatoes and return them to the pot. Add butter, milk, salt, and pepper to taste, and mash until smooth and creamy.

  3. 7

    Add cheese and onions

Stir in the shredded cheddar cheese and chopped green onions until well combined.

  4. 8

    Prepare for baking

Transfer the mashed potatoes to a baking dish, and sprinkle breadcrumbs on top for extra crispiness.

  5. 9

    Bake the potatoes

Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and bake for 15-20 minutes until the top is golden brown.

Seasonal Vegetables

  1. 10

    Prepare the vegetables

Wash and chop the mixed seasonal vegetables into bite-sized pieces.

  2. 11

    Sauté the vegetables

In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the vegetables and season with salt and pepper. Sauté for about 5-7 minutes until tender but still crisp.
