Marinade

Method

Marinade Preparation

1

Make the Marinade

In a medium bowl, whisk together the white miso paste, sake, mirin, brown sugar, and soy sauce until well combined and smooth.

Salmon Preparation

2

Prepare the Salmon

Rinse the salmon fillets under cold water and pat them dry with paper towels. Season both sides with salt and black pepper.

3

Marinate the Salmon

Place the salmon fillets in a shallow dish and pour the miso marinade over them, ensuring each piece is well coated. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, or up to 2 hours for a stronger flavor.

Cooking

4

Broil the Salmon

Preheat your broiler. Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil for easy cleanup. Remove the salmon from the marinade, letting the excess drip off, and place the fillets on the prepared baking sheet. Brush lightly with sesame oil.

5

Broil

Broil the salmon for about 6-8 minutes, or until the fish is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork. The top should be caramelized and slightly charred.

6

Garnish and Serve

Remove the salmon from the oven and let it rest for a few minutes. Garnish with chopped green onions and serve immediately.
