Teriyaki Sauce

Method

Preparing the Teriyaki Sauce

1

Mixing Ingredients

In a medium saucepan, combine soy sauce, brown sugar, honey, rice vinegar, minced garlic, grated ginger, and sesame oil. Stir until the sugar is dissolved.

2

Thickening the Sauce

In a small bowl, mix cornstarch and water until smooth. Add this mixture to the saucepan and cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until the sauce thickens (about 5-7 minutes). Remove from heat and set aside.

Grilling the Sirloin

3

Preparing the Steak

Preheat your grill to medium-high heat. Season the sirloin steak with salt and pepper to taste.

4

Grilling

Place the steak on the grill and cook for about 4-5 minutes per side for medium-rare, or until it reaches your preferred doneness.

5

Basting with Sauce

During the last few minutes of grilling, baste the steak with the teriyaki sauce to enhance the flavor.

6

Resting the Steak

Remove the steak from the grill and let it rest for about 5 minutes before slicing.

Serving

7

Plating

Slice the rested steak against the grain and arrange it on a serving platter.

8

Garnishing

Drizzle any remaining teriyaki sauce over the sliced steak. Sprinkle with sesame seeds and chopped green onions before serving.
