Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the House Seasoning

In a small bowl, combine the kosher salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and smoked paprika. Mix well to ensure an even distribution.

  2. 2

    Season the Ribeye

Pat the ribeye steak dry with paper towels. Generously rub the prepared house seasoning over both sides of the steak, ensuring it's well coated.

Cooking

  1. 3

    Heat the Pan

In a large skillet, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until shimmering, about 2-3 minutes.

  2. 4

    Cook the Steak

Once the oil is hot, carefully place the seasoned ribeye steak in the skillet. Cook for 4-5 minutes without moving it to develop a good crust.

  3. 5

    Flip the Steak

Using tongs, flip the steak and cook for an additional 4-5 minutes for medium-rare, or until the internal temperature reaches 130°F (54°C). Adjust cooking time for desired doneness.

  4. 6

    Rest the Steak

Remove the steak from the skillet and transfer it to a cutting board. Let it rest for 5-10 minutes before slicing to retain its juices.
