Burger Patty
Toppings
Method
Prepare the Burger Patty
- 1
Mix Ingredients
In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix until just combined, being careful not to overwork the meat.
- 2
Form Patties
Divide the mixture into two equal portions and shape each portion into a patty about 3/4 inch thick. Make a small indentation in the center of each patty to prevent them from puffing up while cooking.
Grill the Burger
- 3
Preheat the Grill
Preheat your grill to medium-high heat (about 375°F to 400°F).
- 4
Cook the Patties
Place the burger patties on the grill and cook for about 4-5 minutes on one side. Flip the patties and cook for an additional 3-4 minutes for medium doneness. If using cheese, place a slice on each patty during the last minute of cooking to melt.
Prepare the Toppings
- 5
Slice Vegetables
While the burgers are grilling, wash the lettuce leaves and pat them dry. Slice the tomato and onion into thin rings.
Assemble the Burger
- 6
Build the Burger
Once the patties are cooked, place each patty on a burger bun. Top with lettuce leaves, tomato slices, and onion rings. Add any additional condiments you like (ketchup, mustard, etc.) before placing the top bun.
