Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Prep the Potatoes

Wash and peel the Russet potatoes. Cut them into thick strips, about 1/4 inch wide.

  2. 2

    Soak the Fries

Place the cut potatoes in a bowl of cold water and let them soak for at least 30 minutes to remove excess starch.

  3. 3

    Heat the Oil

In a large pot or deep fryer, heat the vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C).

  4. 4

    Fry the Potatoes

Drain the soaked potatoes and pat them dry with a paper towel. Fry the potatoes in batches for about 5-7 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy.

  5. 5

    Season the Fries

Remove the fries from the oil and drain on paper towels. While still hot, sprinkle with sea salt, paprika, garlic powder, and black pepper to taste.

  6. 6

    Serve

Serve the fries hot with your favorite dipping sauces.
