Method
Calzone Dough Preparation
- 1
Activate Yeast
In a small bowl, dissolve the sugar in warm water. Sprinkle the yeast over the top and let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until frothy.
- 2
Mix Dry Ingredients
In a large mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour and salt.
- 3
Combine Ingredients
Once the yeast is frothy, add it to the flour mixture along with olive oil. Mix until a dough forms.
- 4
Knead the Dough
On a floured surface, knead the dough for about 5-7 minutes until it is smooth and elastic.
- 5
Let Dough Rise
Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm area for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
Assembling and Baking
- 6
Preheat Oven
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- 7
Prepare the Dough
Once the dough has risen, punch it down and divide it into two equal portions. Roll each portion into a circle about 1/4 inch thick.
- 8
Add Filling
On one half of each dough circle, layer chocolate chips, mini marshmallows, and graham cracker crumbs.
- 9
Fold and Seal
Fold the dough over the filling to create a half-moon shape. Press the edges firmly to seal, and use a fork to crimp the edges.
- 10
Bake
Place the calzones on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
- 11
Add Caramel Drizzle
Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes. Drizzle caramel sauce over the top before serving.
