Preparation
- 1
Prepare the Pineapple
Start by cutting the pineapple into bite-sized chunks. If using a fresh pineapple, cut off the top and bottom, stand it upright and slice off the skin. Then, slice the fruit into rounds and cut out the core.
- 2
Prepare the Canadian Bacon
Lay the Canadian bacon slices on a cutting board. You can leave them whole or cut them into smaller pieces, depending on your preference.
Cooking
- 3
Sauté the Ingredients
In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Once hot, add the Canadian bacon slices and cook for about 3-4 minutes on each side until they are golden brown and crispy.
- 4
Add the Pineapple
Add the pineapple chunks to the skillet with the Canadian bacon. Stir gently to combine and cook for an additional 5-7 minutes, allowing the pineapple to caramelize slightly.
- 5
Season the Dish
Sprinkle the dish with salt, black pepper, and dried oregano. Stir well to ensure the seasonings are evenly distributed throughout the dish.
Serving
- 6
Serve Hot
Once cooked, remove the skillet from heat and sprinkle the mozzarella cheese over the top. Allow it to melt slightly before serving. Enjoy your Ohana dish warm!
