Method

Preparation of Herb Butter

  1. 1

    Soften the Butter

In a medium bowl, allow 1 cup of unsalted butter to sit at room temperature for about 30 minutes until it becomes soft and spreadable.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Garlic

While the butter is softening, peel and finely mince 4 cloves of garlic.

  3. 3

    Mix the Ingredients

Add the minced garlic, 2 tablespoons of finely chopped fresh parsley, 1 teaspoon of dried oregano, 1 teaspoon of salt, and black pepper to taste into the softened butter. Mix well until all ingredients are fully combined.

  4. 4

    Chill the Herb Butter

Transfer the herb butter mixture back to the refrigerator to chill for at least 15 minutes.

Assembling and Toasting the Garlic Bread

  1. 5

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).

  2. 6

    Slice the Baguette

Take the baguette and slice it in half horizontally to create two long halves.

  3. 7

    Spread the Herb Butter

Remove the herb butter from the refrigerator. Use a knife to spread a generous amount of the prepared herb butter evenly over the cut sides of the baguette.

  4. 8

    Toast the Bread

Place the baguette halves on a baking sheet, cut side up, and bake in the preheated oven for about 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and the butter is bubbling.

  5. 9

    Serve

Remove the garlic bread from the oven, let it cool for a minute, then slice into pieces and serve warm.
