Method

Brewing the Tea

  1. 1

    Boil Water

In a large pot, bring 16 cups of water to a rolling boil over high heat.

  2. 2

    Steep Tea

Once the water is boiling, remove it from heat and add 8 black tea bags. Let the tea bags steep for 5-7 minutes, depending on your desired strength.

  3. 3

    Remove Tea Bags

After steeping, carefully remove the tea bags from the pot and discard them.

Cooling and Serving

  1. 4

    Cool the Tea

Allow the brewed tea to cool to room temperature. This may take about 30 minutes.

  2. 5

    Add Flavorings (Optional)

If desired, add lemon slices and fresh mint leaves to the tea for additional flavor.

  3. 6

    Serve Over Ice

Fill a pitcher with 4 cups of ice cubes and pour the cooled tea over the ice. Stir gently to combine.

  4. 7

    Enjoy!

Your gallon of unsweet tea is ready to serve. Pour into glasses and enjoy!
