Method

Dough Preparation

  1. 1

    Activate the Yeast

In a small bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and active dry yeast. Let it sit for about 10 minutes until it becomes frothy.

  2. 2

    Make the Dough

In a large mixing bowl, combine all-purpose flour and salt. Once the yeast mixture is frothy, add it to the flour along with olive oil. Mix until a dough forms.

  3. 3

    Knead the Dough

Turn the dough onto a floured surface and knead for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.

  4. 4

    Let it Rise

Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.

Cheese Blend Preparation

  1. 5

    Mix the Cheese

In a mixing bowl, combine the shredded mozzarella, shredded cheddar, grated parmesan, garlic powder, dried oregano, and black pepper. Mix well to ensure all ingredients are evenly distributed.

Assembly and Baking

  1. 6

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

  2. 7

    Shape the Bread

Once the dough has risen, punch it down and divide it into two equal portions. Roll out each portion into an oval shape, about 1/2 inch thick.

  3. 8

    Add the Cheese Blend

Sprinkle half of the cheese blend over one half of each oval dough. Fold the other half over the cheese and pinch the edges to seal.

  4. 9

    Bake the Bread

Place the shaped bread on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Brush the tops with melted butter. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.

  5. 10

    Garnish and Serve

Remove from the oven and let it cool slightly. If desired, sprinkle with chopped parsley before slicing and serving.
