Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Steak

Remove the ribeye from the refrigerator and allow it to come to room temperature for about 30-45 minutes. Pat it dry with paper towels.

  2. 2

    Season the Steak

Generously rub the steak with kosher salt, black pepper, and garlic powder on all sides.

  3. 3

    Preheat the Grill or Pan

Preheat your grill to high heat or heat a cast-iron skillet over medium-high heat. Add olive oil to the skillet if using.

  4. 4

    Sear the Steak

Place the ribeye on the grill or skillet. Sear for about 4-5 minutes on one side until a nice crust forms.

  5. 5

    Flip and Baste

Flip the steak and add butter and rosemary to the pan. Baste the steak with the melted butter for another 4-5 minutes for medium-rare doneness.

  6. 6

    Check Temperature

Use a meat thermometer to check the internal temperature. For medium-rare, it should read 130-135°F (54-57°C).

  7. 7

    Rest the Steak

Remove the steak from the heat and let it rest for 10 minutes before slicing to allow the juices to redistribute.

  8. 8

    Serve

Slice the steak against the grain and serve with your favorite sides.
