Crabcake Ingredients

Method

Crabcake Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Crab Mixture

In a large mixing bowl, combine the fresh lump crab meat, mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, Old Bay seasoning, green onions, beaten egg, bread crumbs, salt, and black pepper. Gently fold the ingredients together until just combined, being careful not to break the crab meat too much.

  2. 2

    Form the Crabcakes

Using your hands, form the crab mixture into patties, about 3 inches in diameter and 1 inch thick. Place the formed crabcakes on a plate and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to help them hold their shape while grilling.

  3. 3

    Prep the Grill

Preheat your grill to medium heat. Brush the grill grates with olive oil to prevent sticking.

  4. 4

    Grill the Crabcakes

Carefully place the chilled crabcakes on the grill. Grill for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until they are golden brown and cooked through. Use a spatula to gently flip them to avoid breaking.

  5. 5

    Serve

Once cooked, remove the crabcakes from the grill and serve immediately with your choice of dipping sauce or garnish, such as lemon wedges or tartar sauce.
