Method
Preparation of Creole Butter
- 1
Make the Creole Butter
In a medium bowl, combine the softened unsalted butter, minced garlic, creole seasoning, lemon juice, chopped parsley, and hot sauce. Mix thoroughly until all ingredients are well incorporated. Set aside.
Preparing the Oysters
- 2
Clean the Oysters
Rinse the fresh oysters under cold water to remove any grit or debris. Using a clean cloth, scrub the shells of the oysters to ensure they are clean.
- 3
Shuck the Oysters
Using an oyster knife, carefully shuck each oyster, being cautious of the sharp edges. Place the shucked oysters on a baking tray with the cupped side facing down.
Grilling
- 4
Preheat the Grill
Preheat your grill to high heat. If using charcoal, allow the coals to become ashen, or if using gas, heat it on high for about 10-15 minutes.
- 5
Add Creole Butter
Spoon a generous amount of the prepared Creole butter onto each shucked oyster.
- 6
- 7
Add Grana Padano
Sprinkle a tablespoon of grated Grana Padano cheese over each oyster during the last 2 minutes of grilling. Close the lid to allow the cheese to melt.
