Preparation
1. Prepare the Ingredients
Gather all the ingredients listed above. If using the lighter version, substitute the ground beef with the turkey burger patty.
Cooking
2. Cook the Patty
Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. If using the ground beef, form a patty from 4 oz of beef. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on one side, then flip and cook for another 3-4 minutes until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C). If using the turkey burger, follow the same cooking instructions but ensure it reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).
Assembly
4. Assemble the Burger
Once the patty is cooked and the bun is toasted, place the cooked patty on the bottom half of the bun. Layer the lettuce, tomato slices, onion slice, and pickles on top of the patty. Spread the ketchup and mustard on the top half of the bun, then place it on top of the assembled burger.
Serving
5. Serve
Serve the burger immediately while hot, with your choice of side dishes.
