Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Cook the Bacon

In a skillet over medium heat, cook the bacon slices until crispy, about 5-7 minutes. Remove and drain on paper towels.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Tomato

While the bacon is cooking, wash and slice the tomato into thin rounds. Set aside.

  3. 3

    Prepare the Sourdough Bread

Lay out the slices of sourdough bread on a clean surface.

Assembling the Panini

  1. 4

    Layer the Ingredients

On one slice of sourdough bread, spread the guacamole evenly. Layer the smoked turkey on top, followed by the crispy bacon, pepper jack cheese, and tomato slices.

  2. 5

    Add Dressing

Drizzle the 1000 Island dressing over the tomatoes.

  3. 6

    Top with Sourdough

Place the second slice of sourdough bread on top to complete the sandwich.

Cooking the Panini

  1. 7

    Grill the Panini

Preheat a panini press or a skillet over medium heat. If using a skillet, add a little butter or oil to prevent sticking. Place the assembled sandwich on the press or in the skillet.

  2. 8

    Cook Until Golden

If using a panini press, close the lid and cook for 3-5 minutes until the bread is golden brown and the cheese is melted. If using a skillet, cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side, pressing down with a spatula.

Serving

  1. 9

    Slice and Serve

Once cooked, remove the panini from the heat. Allow it to cool for a minute, then slice in half and serve immediately.
