Method

Crust Preparation

  1. 1

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 325°F (163°C).

  2. 2

    Combine Crust Ingredients

In a medium bowl, mix together graham cracker crumbs, granulated sugar, and melted butter until well combined.

  3. 3

    Form the Crust

Press the mixture into the bottom of a 9-inch springform pan to create an even layer.

  4. 4

    Bake the Crust

Bake the crust in the preheated oven for 10 minutes. Remove and set aside to cool.

Filling Preparation

  1. 5

    Beat Cream Cheese

In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese with an electric mixer on medium speed until smooth and creamy.

  2. 6

    Add Sugar and Sour Cream

Gradually add granulated sugar and mix until well combined. Then add the sour cream and vanilla extract, mixing until smooth.

  3. 7

    Incorporate Eggs

Add the eggs one at a time, mixing on low speed after each addition until just combined. Do not overmix.

  4. 8

    Add Flour

Sift in the all-purpose flour and gently fold it into the mixture until just incorporated.

Baking the Cheesecake

  1. 9

    Pour Filling into Crust

Pour the cream cheese filling over the cooled crust in the springform pan.

  2. 10

    Bake the Cheesecake

Bake in the preheated oven for 60-70 minutes, or until the center is set but still slightly jiggly.

  3. 11

    Cool the Cheesecake

Turn off the oven and crack the oven door, allowing the cheesecake to cool gradually for 1 hour.

  4. 12

    Chill in Refrigerator

Remove the cheesecake from the oven and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight for best results.

Serving

  1. 13

    Prepare Topping (if using)

If desired, toss fresh strawberries (or fruit of choice) with granulated sugar and let sit for 10 minutes to create a syrup.

  2. 14

    Slice and Serve

Slice the chilled cheesecake and serve with optional fruit topping.
