Method
Roasting the Turkey
- 1
Prepare the Turkey
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). In a small bowl, mix olive oil, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Rub this mixture all over the turkey breast.
- 2
Roast the Turkey
Place the turkey breast in a roasting pan and roast in the preheated oven for about 1 hour, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C). Allow the turkey to rest for 10 minutes before slicing.
Preparing the Vegetables
- 3
Slice the Avocado and Tomato
While the turkey is roasting, slice the avocado and tomato into thin slices.
- 4
Slice the Red Onion
Thinly slice the red onion and set aside.
- 5
Prepare the Lettuce
Wash the lettuce leaves and pat them dry. Tear them into smaller pieces if necessary.
Assembling the Sandwich
- 6
Layer the Ingredients
On a serving plate or cutting board, layer the sliced turkey breast, avocado, tomato, red onion, and pepper jack cheese on a slice of bread.
- 7
Add Mustard
Spread stone-ground mustard on the other slice of bread and place it on top of the layered ingredients to form a sandwich.
- 8
Serve
Cut the sandwich in half and serve immediately, or wrap it up for a delicious meal on-the-go!
