Prepare the Chickpeas
Drain and rinse the canned chickpeas under cold water to remove excess sodium and canning liquid.

Peel the Garlic
Peel one garlic clove and roughly chop it to enhance blending.
Blending

Combine Ingredients
In a food processor, add the rinsed chickpeas, tahini, chopped garlic, lemon juice, olive oil, ground cumin, salt, and water.

Blend Until Smooth
Blend the mixture until it reaches a creamy and smooth consistency. You may need to scrape down the sides of the bowl occasionally.

Adjust Consistency
If the hummus is too thick, gradually add more water, one tablespoon at a time, until the desired consistency is achieved.
Serving

Serve the Hummus
Transfer the hummus to a serving bowl. If using, top with roasted red peppers or chopped fresh herbs for added flavor and presentation.

Drizzle with Olive Oil
Drizzle a little extra olive oil on top for added richness and garnish.
