Method

Brisket Preparation

  1. 1

    Season the Brisket

In a small bowl, mix together salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and smoked paprika. Rub this seasoning mixture all over the brisket.

  2. 2

    Sear the Brisket

In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Once hot, sear the brisket on all sides until browned (about 2-3 minutes per side).

  3. 3

    Cook the Brisket

Transfer the seared brisket to a slow cooker or an oven-safe dish. Cook on low for 6-8 hours or in the oven at 300°F (150°C) for about 3-4 hours until tender.

  4. 4

    Shred the Brisket

Once cooked, remove the brisket from the heat, let it rest for 15 minutes, and then shred it using two forks.

Spread Preparation

  1. 5

    Combine Spreads

In a small bowl, mix the peanut butter and jelly together until well combined.

Sandwich Assembly

  1. 6

    Prepare Bread

Spread butter on one side of each slice of bread.

  2. 7

    Assemble Sandwich

On the non-buttered side of one slice, spread the peanut butter and jelly mixture evenly. Top with a generous amount of shredded brisket. Place the second slice of bread on top, buttered side facing up.

  3. 8

    Grill the Sandwich

In a skillet over medium heat, grill the sandwich until golden brown and crispy, about 3-4 minutes per side. Press down slightly with a spatula for even grilling.

  4. 9

    Serve

Remove from skillet, slice in half, and serve warm.
