Method

Brisket Preparation

  1. 1

    Season the Brisket

In a small bowl, mix the salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and smoked paprika. Rub this spice mixture all over the brisket, ensuring it is evenly coated.

  2. 2

    Cook the Brisket

Place the seasoned brisket in a slow cooker. Pour the beef broth over the brisket. Cover and let it cook on low for 8 hours or until the brisket is tender and easily shredded.

  3. 3

    Shred the Brisket

Once cooked, remove the brisket from the slow cooker and let it rest for 10 minutes. Using two forks, shred the brisket into bite-sized pieces.

Sandwich Assembly

  1. 4

    Prepare the Bread

Take the two slices of bread and spread 1 tablespoon of peanut butter on one slice and 1 tablespoon of jelly or jam on the other slice.

  2. 5

    Add the Brisket

Layer half of the shredded brisket over the peanut butter slice, and if using, add pickle slices on top of the brisket.

  3. 6

    Finish the Sandwich

Close the sandwich with the jam side slice facing down. Spread butter on the outer sides of the sandwich.

  4. 7

    Grill the Sandwich

In a skillet over medium heat, grill the sandwich for about 3-4 minutes on each side until the bread is golden brown and crispy, and the brisket is warmed through.

  5. 8

    Serve

Remove the sandwich from the skillet, slice in half, and serve warm.
