Season the Brisket
In a small bowl, mix the salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and smoked paprika. Rub this spice mixture all over the brisket, ensuring it is evenly coated.

Cook the Brisket
Place the seasoned brisket in a slow cooker. Pour the beef broth over the brisket. Cover and let it cook on low for 8 hours or until the brisket is tender and easily shredded.

Shred the Brisket
Once cooked, remove the brisket from the slow cooker and let it rest for 10 minutes. Using two forks, shred the brisket into bite-sized pieces.

Prepare the Bread
Take the two slices of bread and spread 1 tablespoon of peanut butter on one slice and 1 tablespoon of jelly or jam on the other slice.

Layer half of the shredded brisket over the peanut butter slice, and if using, add pickle slices on top of the brisket.

Close the sandwich with the jam side slice facing down. Spread butter on the outer sides of the sandwich.
