Preparation of Brisket

Season the Beef
Rub the beef brisket with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder evenly on all sides.

Cook the Brisket
Place the seasoned brisket in a slow cooker or smoker. If using a slow cooker, add a cup of water. Cook on low for 8 hours or until tender. If using a smoker, smoke at 225°F for about 6-8 hours, depending on thickness.

Shred the Brisket
Once the brisket is fully cooked and tender, remove it from the cooker. Allow it to rest for 15 minutes before shredding it with two forks.
Assembling the Sandwich

Prepare the Rolls
Slice the sandwich rolls in half and lightly toast them if desired.

Add Barbecue Sauce
Spread a generous amount of barbecue sauce on the bottom half of each sandwich roll.

Place half a pound of shredded brisket on top of the barbecue sauce on each roll.
