Dry Ingredients

Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.

  2. 2

    Mix Dry Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, sift together the all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt until well combined.

  3. 3

    Mix Wet Ingredients

In a separate bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract until smooth.

  4. 4

    Combine Mixtures

Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, mixing until just combined. Do not overmix.

  5. 5

    Add Boiling Water

Carefully stir in the boiling water to the batter. The batter will be thin, but that's normal.

Baking

  1. 6

    Pour and Bake

Divide the batter evenly between the prepared cake pans. Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

  2. 7

    Cool the Cakes

Once baked, remove from the oven and let the cakes cool in the pans for 10 minutes. Then, remove the cakes from the pans and transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Serving

  1. 8

    Frost and Serve

Once cooled, frost with your favorite chocolate frosting and serve. Enjoy your rich and moist chocolate cake!
