Method

Preparation of Topping

  1. 1

    Prepare the Tomatoes

Dice the tomatoes into small pieces and place them in a mixing bowl.

  2. 2

    Add Garlic and Basil

Mince the garlic cloves and chop the fresh basil leaves. Add them to the tomatoes in the mixing bowl.

  3. 3

    Season the Mixture

Add salt, black pepper, and balsamic vinegar to the tomato mixture. Mix all ingredients well and let it sit for 10 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.

Preparation of Bread

  1. 4

    Slice the Baguette

Cut the baguette into 1/2-inch thick slices.

  2. 5

    Brush with Olive Oil

Brush both sides of each slice with olive oil.

  3. 6

    Grill the Bread

Preheat a grill or grill pan over medium heat. Place the bread slices on the grill and grill for about 2-3 minutes on each side, or until they are golden brown and crispy.

Assembly

  1. 7

    Top the Grilled Bread

Remove the grilled bread from the heat. Top each slice with the prepared tomato mixture.

  2. 8

    Serve Immediately

Serve the bruschetta warm as an appetizer or snack.
