Gravy Ingredients
Method
Gravy Preparation
- 1
Melt the Butter
In a large saucepan over medium heat, melt the unsalted butter until it is completely liquid.
- 2
Make the Roux
Once the butter has melted, sprinkle in the all-purpose flour. Whisk continuously for about 2-3 minutes until the mixture turns a light, golden brown color.
- 3
Add the Broth
Gradually pour in the turkey or chicken broth while whisking to prevent lumps from forming. Continue to whisk until the gravy is smooth.
- 4
Season the Gravy
Add the soy sauce, onion powder, garlic powder, black pepper, and salt. Stir well to combine all the ingredients. Let the gravy simmer for about 5-10 minutes, stirring occasionally until it thickens to your desired consistency.
- 5
Finish with Parsley
If desired, stir in fresh parsley at the end for added flavor and color. Taste and adjust seasoning if necessary.
- 6
Serve
Serve the gravy warm alongside roasted turkey or use it as a dipping sauce for your favorite subs.
