Brownie Roll

Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Make the Brownie Batter

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). In a medium saucepan over low heat, melt the butter. Once melted, remove from heat and stir in both the granulated and brown sugars until well combined. Allow the mixture to cool slightly, then mix in the vanilla extract and eggs until smooth.

  2. 2

    Combine Dry Ingredients

In a separate bowl, sift together the flour, cocoa powder, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined. Fold in the chocolate chips.

  3. 3

    Bake the Brownie Roll

Spread the batter evenly onto a greased or parchment-lined baking sheet (approximately 15x10 inches). Bake for 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Let it cool for 10 minutes.

  4. 4

    Assemble the Roll

Once cooled, carefully remove the brownie from the baking sheet. Place a sheet of parchment paper on top and flip it over. Spread the vanilla ice cream evenly over the brownie. Roll it up tightly, using the parchment paper to help. Wrap the rolled brownie in plastic wrap and freeze for at least 2 hours.

  5. 5

    Serve

Once frozen, remove the brownie roll from the freezer and slice into pieces. Drizzle with chocolate sauce before serving.
