Spicy Fried Chicken Sandwich Ingredients
Method
Preparation Directions
- 1
Marinate the Chicken
In a bowl, mix buttermilk and hot sauce. Add the chicken thighs, ensuring they are well coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour or overnight for best results.
- 2
Prepare the Breading
In a separate bowl, combine flour, cornstarch, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper.
- 3
Fry the Chicken
Heat vegetable oil in a deep skillet over medium-high heat. Remove chicken from the marinade, allowing excess buttermilk to drip off. Dredge each piece in the flour mixture, shaking off excess. Fry the chicken for 6-8 minutes per side or until golden brown and cooked through. Remove and drain on paper towels.
- 4
Make Sriracha Mayonnaise
In a small bowl, mix together mayonnaise and sriracha sauce until well combined.
- 5
Assemble the Sandwich
Toast the burger buns lightly. Spread sriracha mayonnaise on the top and bottom buns. Place the fried chicken on the bottom bun, add a slice of Swiss cheese, lettuce, and tomato. Top with the other half of the bun and serve.
