Spring Roll Filling

Method

Preparation and Cooking

  1. 1

    Prepare the Kalua Pork

In a slow cooker, place the pork shoulder and add soy sauce and liquid smoke. Cook on low for 8 hours or until the pork is tender and easily shredded.

  2. 2

    Shred the Pork

Once cooked, remove the pork from the slow cooker and shred it with two forks. Mix in chopped green onions, julienned carrots, and shredded cabbage.

  3. 3

    Assemble the Spring Rolls

Place a spring roll wrapper on a flat surface. Add about 2 tablespoons of the pork mixture to the center. Fold the sides over the filling and roll tightly from the bottom up.

  4. 4

    Fry the Spring Rolls

In a deep pan, heat oil over medium heat. Once hot, fry the spring rolls in batches until golden brown and crispy, about 3-4 minutes each side.

  5. 5

    Serve

Remove the spring rolls and place them on a paper towel to drain excess oil. Serve hot with dipping sauce of your choice.
